It is well known in the powder processing industry that Raymond grinding mills can be used for grinding and pulverizing non-metallic minerals such as limestone, calcite, fluorite, marble, feldspar, talc, quartz, gypsum, graphite, wollastonite, bentonite, and phosphate ore. However, as a versatile piece of equipment, the applications of Raymond mills go far beyond these materials. On January 8, 2014, Guilin Raytek Mining Machinery Co., Ltd. welcomed a special group of customers—representatives from a gold mining enterprise in Vietnam. They learned from one of our grinding mill users in Vietnam that Guilin Raytek’s Raymond grinding mills are of good quality and offer excellent cost performance. However, they had always been concerned about the quality of Chinese products, so they decided to personally visit Guilin Raytek Mining Machinery Co., Ltd. to inspect the grinding mill equipment. According to their introduction, their company is currently engaged in gold production and no longer uses sodium cyanide, which is highly toxic and harmful to the environment, for gold extraction. Instead, they have adopted a new technology. Large pieces of gold ore are first coarsely crushed by a jaw crusher. The coarsely crushed ore is then conveyed by belt conveyor to a secondary crushing stage, using either an impact crusher or a cone crusher, for further crushing. After being finely crushed to the size of peanut kernels, the gold ore is transported by elevator into the main unit of a Raymond grinding mill (or a vertical grinding mill, ring roller ultra-fine grinding mill, or high-pressure suspension roller mill) for grinding. Gold ore powder meeting the required fineness is then transported through pipelines into the finished product silo. Finally, the ground gold ore powder is mixed with a non-toxic and harmless reagent produced by the customer’s own company, and then processed in a large furnace to produce gold. (As this may involve the customer’s trade secrets, the introduction here is intentionally simplified.) According to the customer, the process of grinding gold ore into powder with a grinding mill before extracting gold represents a brand-new gold mining and processing technology with significant market development potential. 46-1 The Vietnamese customers made an in-depth visit to our workshop to inspect our grinding mill production process and technical workflow. They expressed strong recognition of our company’s R&D capabilities and production scale, and showed great interest in our 6R extra-large grinding mill, the HD-1720. They also expressed a strong intention for long-term cooperation, and the project has now entered into detailed negotiations for long-term collaboration.
